In this Episode I answer the question, How does Vitamin D affect Fertility and I explain why I think it is an absolute minimum test when you start to think about starting a family. How in fact we should all get tested, whether we are trying to get pregnant or not, and that a surprising number of people in the UK are in fact Vitamin D deficient.
An amazing fact is that the intake of a mothers Vitamin D affects the reproductive cells in an embryo, and it is especially key when you are trying to get pregnant. It’s a test I suggest to all clients and for many it has indeed been deficient.
Why would we be deficient? Well, If you think about it, being indoors, living in built up areas, diet and sunscreen are all factor that limit Vitamin D. Because although available in some foods, it’s a vitamin that is manufactured by being exposed to the sun.
I share how I feel this should be offered as a general baseline to all couples trying to conceive, not just the 6 months or 1 year testing process.
